Our Story

Abers Acres is a family enterprise managed by John, Susan and Adam Abers. Since 1984, the business has grown to over 100 acres of prime agricultural land. Today, the farm grows high quality organic pick-your-own and ready-picked seasonal fruits and vegetables.

In 1984, we opened our first location at Route 394, one mile west of Kennedy, NY. The first crops available were strawberries and sweet corn. Today, this location remains our home farm and farm stand.

We still grow our famous strawberries and sweet corn for the public and wholesale market. Including you-pick strawberry fields on our Grubb Hill farm at 409 Grubb Hill Road, Kennedy NY.

Farms Expansion

Our farm has expanded to a one stop shop for all your produce needs. Including you-pick and already picked options depending on the year and weather.

We grow a variety of organic flowers, herbs, berries and vegetables to include but not limited to: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, corn, zucchini, lettuce, fava beans, carrots, fennel, cilantro, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peas, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkins, squash, dill, sweet potatoes, red and white potatoes, hot peppers, sweet peppers, cabbage, kale, beets, decorative flowers and gourds, plus much more.

We also have you -cut and pre-cut Christmas trees available after Thanksgiving each year.

Abers Acres takes part in several Farmers’ Markets throughout the season. You’ll find our Farmers’ Market schedule on the home page.

Several other CSA (Community Supportive Agriculture) and Farm Box programs include our product to their customers as well.
